Raymond J. Zimmermann

RAYMOND JOHN ZIMMERMANN , age 78 of Waseca, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Born in Waterbury Township, Minnesota on January 30, 1935, Ray was the son of Walter and Erna (Gerth) Zimmermann.  After graduating from South High School in Minneapolis, he went to work for Honeywell in the Twin Cities.  Ray spent four years in the United States Air Force before returning to work for Honeywell.  On June 26, 1964 he was united in marriage to Janice Kuelbs at St. John Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.  After the birth of their son, Scott, in 1965, Ray and Jan moved to Waseca, where Ray worked for UBC.  Kelly, their daughter was born in 1968, and not long after Ray went to work for E.F. Johnson Company.  He worked there in inventory control until his retirement.  In the time since then, Ray sometimes helped out at Rose Oil Company in Waseca.  He was a quiet man that enjoyed reading, watching TV, computers, playing cards, and working around the house on remodeling and landscaping projects.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Ray is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Jan of Waseca; one daughter, Kelly Zimmermann of Waseca; one son, Scott (Tracy) Zimmermann of Owatonna; three grandchildren, Danielle, Jeremy, and Courtney Zimmermann; one brother, Don Zimmermann of Lamberton; and five nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gerald; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Lois Zimmermann; and one nephew, Greg Zimmermann.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating.  Visitation will take place for one hour before the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  Dennis Funeral and Cremation Services in Waseca is handling the arrangements.Â
