William George "Dusty" Schnathorst

WILLIAM GEORGE “DUSTY” SCHNATHORST, age 83 of Janesville, died at Bridgewater Assisted Living on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Dusty was born on April 12, 1940. As a boy he was raised by his grandparents and attended school until he began helping work on the farm. Throughout his working years, Dusty drove truck and operated heavy machinery in the construction and farming industries. He was married to Eunice Weber for many years, and following her passing was remarried to Phyllis Devens in Apache Junction, AZ in 2003. He was a member of the Waseca Christian Assembly, he enjoyed fishing, and he was a “car guy” who liked collecting, driving, and working on cars, as well as watching local trains.

Dusty is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Seth) Welch of Minot, ND and their son Kyle Schwols; other relatives that cared about Dusty including Bernie Winscher, Colleen Zimmerman, Denise McCarthy, and Scott (Julie) Devens. He will also be missed by numerous “adopted” grandchildren and other relatives. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and both of his previous wives.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Dusty’s loved ones would like to offer special thanks to the staff at St. Croix Hospice and the staff at Bridgewater Assisted Living for the great care and compassion they always showed to Dusty.
