William Duncan August 1, 1944 - September 20, 2010

William "Bill" Duncan, age 66, of Faribault died Monday, September 20, 2010 at the District One Hospital in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault with the Rev. David Hurtt, officiating. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services. The Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening. William Hannahlin Fletcher, the son of Samuel and Hannah (Beckman) Duncan, was born on August 1, 1944 in Northfield, MN. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1962. Following high school he attended a construction trade''s school. Bill also served in the U.S. Army. As a young man Bill spent many hours at the Nerstrand State Park where his father was the caretaker and had a great appreciation for the outdoors. After his father''s passing, Bill took on his father''s duties and served as the caretaker for a period of time and this is where he spent time with his future wife. On July 2, 1966 he was united in marriage to Patricia Bauer at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault. After their marriage Bill worked at Chadderdon Lumber in Faribault and later at Paul Hanson Construction in Northfield. In 1976 Bill started his own construction company, Duncan Construction, and worked until his retirement in 2007. Bill was an active member of First English Lutheran Church and served on many committees'' over the years. Bill was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion Post 43 in Faribault, and was one of the founding members of the local chapter of the South Central Builder''s Association. For many years Bill served as a leader with the Boy Scouts of America and for his many years of service and dedication Bill was awarded the highest honor and received the Silver Beaver Award. Bill loved working with wood and was a perfectionist at his trade. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and all outdoor activities. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Duncan of Faribault, MN; by three children, Christine (Todd) Paschke of Faribault, MN, William (Katie) Duncan of Traverse City, Michigan, and Scott (Karin) Duncan of St. Cloud, MN; by 7 grandchildren, Brittni Paschke, Cody Paschke, Chloe Paschke, Maycee Duncan,
