Windelin 'Whitey' Hill
WINDELIN "WHITEY" HILL, age 74 of Cleveland died on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Born on March 9, 1941 in Elysian, Minnesota, he was the son of Kenneth and Goldie (Abbe) Hill. Whitey attended school in Waterville. He married Sharon Smith and they were later divorced. He married Jeannie Walters on April 23, 1977. Whitey was in the concrete business for over 30 years, owning and operating Whitey Hill Construction. Whitey enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, trapping, gardening and mowing his lawn.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; three children, Dawn (Lyle) Arndt of Madison Lake, Dan (Linda) Hill of Waterville and Bonnie Smith of Waterville; six grandchildren, Vanessa Arndt, Brock Arndt, Lana Hill, Heidi (Jason) Ellis, Nicole Hill and Kayla Smith and special friend Jason Fechner; and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Rosemary (John) Schmitz of Waterville and Cynthia (Rouzehk) Birashk of Mukilteo, WA; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Jeanne Hill of Elysian, Dane Geyer of Owatonna, Janet Smith and special friend, Dave Johnson of North Mankato, Terry Walters, Jerry Walters and Gerald Walters all of Mapleton and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his friends Joe Schramm and Wayne Seifert. Whitey was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Geyer; brother, Robert Hill; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Earl and Gladys Walters; sister-in-law, Theresa Walters; and granddaughter, Alicia Marie Arndt.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville with Rev. Russ Grabau officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
