Wade Scott Welch

WADE SCOTT WELCH, known to many as “Gilligan”, age 61 of Waseca, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Laurel’s Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Born in Faribault on January 22, 1960, Wade was the son of Raymond Welch and Shirley Dehn. After attending school at WEM, he became an ASC Certified Mechanic. He was married to Lynn Nielson and they had three children together before they divorced. A lifelong resident of southern Minnesota, he had made many friends over the years that will miss him greatly. He enjoyed fishing, reading, watching movies, playing video games, shooting pool, and talking with friends and family.

Wade is survived by three children, Jessi Duffner of New Richland, Jolene Welch of Austin, and Kyle Welch of Morristown; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Alan Welch of Le Center, Danny Welch of Faribault, and David Dehn of Owatonna. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild; and many other friends and family.

A celebration of Wade’s life will be held by his family on October 16, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Hoot Lanes in Waterville.
