Virginia M. Roemhildt
VIRGINIA M. ROEMHILDT, age 93 of Elysian died on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Traditions in Waterville.
Born on February 1, 1922 in Lafayette, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Carl and Mabel (Abrahamson) Andersen. She graduated from Cleveland High School and married Ervie Roemhildt on September 26, 1942 at St. Peters "Bell" Lutheran Church. Together they lived and farmed in rural Le Sueur County. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing. Virginia was a member of St. Peters "Bell" Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid and had been a member of the Ladies Kitchen Band.
She is survived by three children, Jim and Barb Roemhildt of Effie, Susan and Adrian Sween of Hill City, SD and Randy and Beth Roemhildt of rural Elysian; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Vernon and Marlys Roemhildt of Pemberton; and two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Andersen of Fairfield Glade, TN and Elaine Andersen of Waseca; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Jerome; one granddaughter, Julie; one sister, Fern Moerke; and two brothers, Carl "Ted" Andersen and Wenzel Andersen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Peters "Bell" Lutheran Church with Pastor Russ Grabau officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, one hour before services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
