Violet Daschner

Violet Daschner August 10, 1919 - January 5, 2012

Violet H. Daschner, age 92 of rural Eagle Lake, died on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Janesville Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 7th at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Fr. Robert Schneider, Celebrant. Interment will be in Mankato's Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Violet Harriet was born on August 10, 1919 in Janesville Township, Waseca County, Minnesota to Benjamin and Alma Luella (Borneke) Kenyon. Violet attended Blue Earth County country schools. On November 8, 1945 she was united in marriage to Edward Willard Daschner at the parish rectory at Ss Peter and Paul''s Catholic Church in Mankato. Violet and Edward raised their family on their LeRay Township farm in Blue Earth County. Over the years Violet had also worked at Telex in Mankato, E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca, and Lewis Eastgate in Mankato. Violet was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. She enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, ceramics with Sr. Irene, and square dancing with the Circle J''s in Janesville. Violet and Edward enjoyed their membership in the Auto Restorers Club of Southern Minnesota. She is survived by her children, Harriet Hutcherson of Mankato, Irene (Jerry) Sorum of Medford, Leon (Patty) Daschner of Eagle Lake, Eileen (Dick) Jewison of Eagle Lake, Lee (Cheryl) Daschner of Elysian, and Lynn Daschner of Janesville; by her daughter-in-law Judy Daschner of Janesville; by her 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; by her brothers, Kenneth (Dorothy) Kenyon of Eagle Lake, and Melvin Kenyon of Madison Lake; by her sister-in-law JoAnn Kenyon of Mankato; by many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward, son LeRoy Daschner, grandson Brian Jewison, and son-in-law Gary Hutcherson; by her brother, Harold Kenyon. Casketbearers are Violet's grandsons: Mark Daschner, Mike Daschner, Troy Daschner, Phil Daschner, Ben Daschner, Eddie Daschner, and Travis Daschner.
