Twyla Mae (Oldfather) Bennett

TWYLA MAE (OLDFATHER) BENNETT, age 81 of Waseca, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Mayo Health System – St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester.

She was born on December 15, 1941, in Keister, a daughter of the late Charlie and Martha (Goette) Oldfather. She graduated from Kiester High School, Class of 1960. Following school, she went to work for J.C. Penney’s in Albert Lea. On May 7, 1961, she married Larry J. Bennett in Kiester, they would later move to New Richland. After moving to New Richland, she went on to work for the next 39 years between E.F. Johnson, and Itron, both in Waseca. Larry and Twyla later moved to Waseca in 1989. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Western films, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children, Larry Allen Bennett, Tammy Mae Bennett, and Charles Boyd (Tammy) Bennett; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Oldfather, and Warren (Rosemary) Oldfather. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Teresa Bennett, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Rudolph Helland, sister-in-law, LaVonne Oldfather, mother and father-in-law, Boyd and Hazel Bennett, and brother-in-law, James Bennett.
