Tony Schnoor
ANTHONY "TONY" WAYNE SCHNOOR, age 38, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
Born on December 21, 1980, Tony was the son of Steve and Marni (Wood) Schnoor. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elysian. He graduated from Waterville-Elysian-Morristown high school and recently worked at JC press in Owatonna MN.
Tony was remarkable in many ways and lived life to the fullest. He was happiest when he was fishing. An avid fisherman whose eyes would light up telling friends and families of his latest "big catch", he enjoyed sharing his fish with family and organizing fish fries for his friends in the community. He most enjoyed "Cat Fishing" on the area rivers with his best friend Daniel "Boone" Roemhildt.
When not fishing, he could be found deep in the woods hunting asparagus and morel mushrooms. He prided himself on the abundance he would find every spring and he loved to share with family and friends.
He enjoyed watching all sports, particularly the Minnesota Vikings, and he was known for his excellent cooking skills. He loved coming up with new recipes for the games and prided himself on unveiling the latest dish he would make for his friends and family.
Tony had a special way with children. Especially his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He would brighten up at the sight of children and children would brighten up at the sight of him.
Tony is survived by his parents, Steve and Marni Schnoor Elysian; siblings Michael Wood of Red Wing, Stacia Schnoor of New Richland, Kristy Denn of Lake Crystal, Anna (Charlie) Stoltz of Waterville, and Joseph Schnoor of Elysian; his grandmother, Betty Wood of Farmington; and many nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arvid and Alvera Schnoor; maternal grandfather, Ernest Neil Wood; uncles Michael, Daniel and Jeremy Schnoor, Jeffery and Terance Wood, Brian Lueck, and Michael Schmidt; and aunts Brenda Schnoor, Kristina Marie Wood, and Cheryl Schmidt.
Tony will live on in the wonderful memories and countless smiles he brought us. A jokester at heart, he loved to make people laugh, and enjoyed brightening the lives of others. We are thankful for each day we got to see his smile and experience his zest for life. He will live on in our hearts forever.
Funeral services with a lunch to follow will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at St. Peters "Bell" Lutheran Church in Le Sueur County, with Rev. Russ Grabau officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until the time of the service at the church.
