Thomas E. Madigan June 10, 1947 - September 25, 2016
Thomas Madigan, age 69, of Madison Lake, died with his family by his side on Sunday afternoon, September 25, 2016, at his home following a short battle with cancer.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 11:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Father Robert Schneider as Celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake and continue for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Memorials are preferred to All Saints Academy in Madison Lake. Arrangements are with the Arnoldt - McRaith Funeral Home of Janesville.
Thomas Edward Madigan was born on June 10, 1947, in Mankato to Francis and Marion (Miller) Madigan. He was baptized, confirmed and married all at All Saints Catholic Church. Tom grew up in Madison Lake and graduated from Mankato High School in 1965, where he participated in wrestling. Tom continued his education at Mankato Technical College. He then began working at the post office in Mankato which he enjoyed for 42 years as a letter carrier for most of his time.
On October 25, 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda Brandenburg at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Together they raised two children. Tom was a lifelong faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was a very religious man which he passed on to his children. One of his favorite hobbies was riding motorcycle. Tom was an avid hunter, especially hunting pheasants and deer. Together with his wife he enjoyed their trips to the casino in Flandreau, SD with the legion club. He was a huge Vikings fan and also liked following the Minnesota Twins. Tom enjoyed watching his grandson''s hockey games. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren. His family will remember him as a very giving man. Some of his last words to his family were, "It doesn''t matter how small of a task you help someone with, you never know the impact it may have on them in the future."
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda; children: Kelly Madigan of Madison Lake and Cody (Kristin) of Pine City; grandchildren: Karissa and Camden Madigan; brother, Craig (Bev) of St. Peter; sister-in-law, Mary Madigan of Madison Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Roger (Mary Lou) and John; and his infant daughter Jody.
