Theresa Roesler October 29, 1930 - December 17, 2009

Theresa S. Roesler, age 79 of Waseca, died on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Immanuel- St. Joseph''s Mayo Health System in Mankato. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Martin Schaefer, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. The Roesler Family will greet friends on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Tuesday afternoon for one hour prior to services, at church. There will be a 7:30 p.m. parish prayer service Monday evening at the funeral home. Theresa Stefany was born on October 29, 1930 in Ely, Minnesota to John and Katherine (Agnich) Kapsch. Theresa graduated from Ely High School in 1948, and went on to receive her bachelor''s degree in nursing from St. Theresa''s College in Winona. She was united in marriage to Francis Edward Roesler on February 14, 1953. Theresa worked briefly as an RN at the Waseca Medical Center. In the mid 70''s she returned to school, and became one of the first licensed nurse practitioners through the Mayo Clinic. She had a long career as the head of health services at the Southern School of Agriculture (later became University of Minnesota-Waseca), retiring in 1992 after 33 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Theresa is survived by her husband Francis of Waseca; by her sons Edward C. (Barbara) Roesler of Waseca, John L. (Delores) Roesler of Flowery Branch, GA, Jerome F. Roesler of Waseca, and Thomas S. Roesler of White Bear Lake; by her daughters Mary T. Roesler of Waseca, and Katherine L. (Joseph) Malatesta of Soldotna, AK; by her brother Stephan (Shirley) Kapsch of Lake Oswego, OR; by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers
