THERESA ANN WHEELOCK, age 89, of Janesville, died on Thursday evening, September 10, 2020 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Theresa Wheelock was born on October 5, 1930, in Wilton Township, Waseca County to George and Bertha (Harguth) Klug. She was baptized at St. Mary Catholic Church in rural Waseca and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Theresa attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Waseca, graduating with the class of 1948. On October 11, 1949, Theresa was united in marriage to William “Bill” Wheelock at St. Mary Catholic Church in rural Waseca. Together they raised their family and farmed in the Waseca and Janesville area. In 2004, Theresa and Bill moved to Janesville. They shared 63 years of marriage before Bill passed away on May 6, 2013. She was a dedicated wife and mother, using her great cooking skills to be sure her family was always taken care of. Theresa was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville where she spent numerous hours volunteering for various activities and events, especially teaching Sunday School for over 15 years as well as serving on the funeral committee.
Theresa is survived by her daughter, Betty (Christopher) Schmidt of St. Clair; sons: David (Karen) of Mankato, Gary of Eagan, Bruce (Martha) of Smiths Mill, Keith (Gwen) of Janesville and Edward (DeAnna) of Janesville; eighteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael Wheelock in 2001, grandsons: David Wheelock and Daniel Wheelock; brother, John (Mary) Klug; and foster brother, Joe (Theresa) Wengronowitz.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM all on Monday, September 14, 2020 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. A private family graveside service will follow at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery.
