MARY “ARLENE” TEGMEIER , age 92 of Waseca, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
Born in Maquoketa, Iowa on January 2, 1921, she was the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Campbell) Duhme. After graduating from Maquoketa High School she was married to Gerald C. Tegmeier on October 5, 1947. After getting married, they lived and farmed in the Morristown area until she moved off the farm at the age of 91. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, caring for farm animals, crocheting, crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a past member of the PTA and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.
Arlene is survived by eight children, Donna (Roger) Moore of Waseca, Brenda (Warren) Braem of Alma, WI, Larry (Kathy) Tegmeier of Morristown, Vickie (Edwin) Roeker of Waseca, Kalvin (Maureen) Tegmeier of Jordan, Priscilla Rotunda of Northfield, Marilyn (Brian) Braem of Richmond, and Marcy (Mark) Gallea of Waseca; twenty eight grandchildren; thirty two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert (Margaret) Duhme of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Chester (Yvonne) Duhme of Hardy, Arkansas; one brother-in-law, Daniel Blatt of Olympia, Washington; and two sisters-in-law, Beulah Duhme of Marion, IA and Jean Duhme of Maquoketa, IA. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; two sisters; five brothers; two brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.
A public visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.
A private family service with interment at Meadowridge Cemetery in Faribault will take place on Friday. Memorials are preferred and may be directed to Homestead Hospice House or to the Alzheimer’s Association.ÂVisits: 9
