SUZANNE “SAM” JANE (SCOTT) DAYTON, age 70, of Waseca, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, died on September 17, 2020, at the New Richland Care Center in New Richland, Minnesota.
Born on July 22, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana to William and Mary (Whisler) Scott. Sam attended Howe High School in Indianapolis, graduating with the class of 1968. On July 18, 1969, she was married to Michael Dayton with whom she had three children. They were later divorced. Sam worked for Taco Bell for over 30 years. She truly enjoyed her career. Her grandchildren fondly remember visiting and Sam always had free Taco Bell for them. She loved food and cooking for others; she always made sure there was more than enough to go around. She religiously watched Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Sam also enjoyed crocheting. Above all else, she cherished all of her grandchildren and spoke of them often.
Sam is survived by her children: Jason (Anne) Dayton, Jessi (Marty) Aberle, and Joshua (Sarah) Dayton; grandchildren: Connor Dayton, Canada Dayton, Jordan (Colin) Hackett, Maya Aberle, Liam Aberle, Zach Dayton, Faith Dayton and Emma Dayton; great grandchildren: Silas and Jamey Hackett; sister, Penny Scott.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Scott.
