SHIRLEY IRENE WITTHOFT, age 82 of Waseca, died at her home on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.
Born in Zearing, IA on August 11, 1934, Shirley was the daughter of Henry and Irene (Maland) Gogerty.  She attended school in Des Moines, IA, and graduated from East High School in 1952.  On April 6, 1957, Shirley was united in marriage to Louis Ferdinand Witthoft in Chicago, IL.  She was a homemaker for much of her life, but after moving to Arizona in 1984 she worked part-time in various retail jobs.  Shirley enjoyed reading, painting, and music.
Shirley is survived by five children, Charles (Carolyn) Witthoft of Falls Church, VA, Jean Witthoft of Minneapolis, Julie (Gene) Glynn of Waseca, Janis Witthoft of Waseca, and William (Kristine) Witthoft of Mesa, AZ; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six siblings, Mary (Ken) Neitzel of San Rafael, CA, John Gogerty, Jim (Betty) Gogerty, and Edward (JoAnne) Gogerty all of Des Moines, IA, Doris Ann (Jim) Bruder of Prairie Farm, WI, and Phyllis Gogerty of Des Moines, IA.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; and one sister, Mary. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, with Rev. Paige Whitney officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home.
