SHIRLEY ANN BARTO, loving wife and mother, age 71 of Waseca died peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with family by her side.
Born on February 2, 1949 in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Ralph and Ellen (Robinson) Jenkins. Shirley graduated from Waseca High School in 1967. In 1968 she married Bryce Pauls and they were later divorced. Shirley married Cary Barto on February 10, 1973. She worked at Randall’s and Preuss Bakery before she started The Cleaning Connection in the early 1990s. She retired in 2005. Shirley loved to cook. Her specialties were pizza, lasagna, krautburgers, and caramels. She loved coffee, tending her flower gardens, watching the birds, and cats. Shirley also enjoyed helping Cary with the fire department onion ring stand during the Waseca County Fair. Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren, trips to the cabin in Wisconsin and going to the casino. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.
She is survived by her husband, Cary of Waseca; four children, Kelly (Chris) Jensen of Waseca, Kari (Mike) Dagner of Cleveland, Paul (Tara) Barto of Waseca, and Wayne Lee Barto of New Richland; and eight grandchildren, Colby, Kelsey, Carter, Gavin, Kori, Avery, Halle, and Piper. She is also survived by siblings, Darlene (Donnie) Sutter, Delores Schuster, Sue (LaMar) Sather, Ralph Jenkins Jr., Mary Brown, and Sherry Zoll. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Venna Comar; brothers-in-law, Ray Blowers, Wayne Enzenauer, Doug Schuster, and Wayne Barto; and niece, Angel Blowers in infancy.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
