SHELLEY RAE GEYER, age 53 of Waterville died on Friday, September 11, 2020 at her home.
Born on January 9, 1967 in Faribault, Minnesota she was the daughter of Donald D. and Christine (Porter) Geyer. Shelley graduated from Waterville-Elysian High School in 1985 and went on to attend VoTech for accounting in Faribault. Shelley had a son, Steven, who was her world and best friend. She worked at Elm Homes for 23 years and she loved her job. Shelley loved playing bingo with her bingo buddies. She loved reading a good book and doing puzzles. She also liked to spend time with her family, fishing and traveling. Shelley enjoyed going to the casino and playing slots and trying to hit it big on lottery tickets. She was known to get in her car and turn the music up loud – her favorites were Patty Loveless and Stevie Nicks. She would always drive by her brother’s houses and question them if not at home. She liked to checkout the lakes and look for bald eagles, birds and deer every day.
Shelley could be found with her dad watching football all day on Sundays. She has her shrine of Panther football stuff – her favorite team. Shelley loved her own mini panther, Hank at home who thinks he is a panther protecting his house. Just ask anyone who has been there. The cat has attacked many unsuspecting visitors.
Shelley had a passion for baking banana bread which she would always give away to anyone. Shelley always had her special way of surprising her family with baked goods for birthdays. She had a way of knowing everyone’s favorite.
She is survived by her son, Steven Geyer of Waseca; father, Donald Geyer of Waterville; brothers, Jeffrey (Janet) Geyer of Waterville and Jay Geyer of Waterville; special sister-in-law, Jeanne Bronstad of Waterville and many nieces and nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her mother, Christine and one niece, Kristen Geyer.
