SHAWNA MARIE KUBAT, age 43 of Owatonna, died peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by family and close friend.
Born in Waseca, Minnesota on September 19, 1975, she was the daughter of Allan and Barbara "Bobbi" Jo (Stankewitz) Manthe.  Shawna graduated from Waseca High School in 1994.  She married Marcus Kubat September 18, 1999 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna.  Through the years Shawna worked at various places including the Owatonna Holiday Inn, Medford School District, Semcil, and Elm Homes in Waseca.  Most recently she worked as a baker at Perkins restaurant in Owatonna.  Shawna enjoyed playing bingo, camping, fishing, traveling, doing crafts and being with family and friends.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca.
Shawna is survived by her boyfriend, Philip Roberts of Owatonna, husband, Marcus Kubat of Owatonna, one son, Caleb Kubat of Owatonna, step mother, Jena Manthe of Webster, WI, half-brother, Scott Bickel of Geneva, step-sister, Tabetha (Matt) Mithun of New Richland, step-sister, Kimberlee (Eric) Morris of Wells, and step-brother, Travis (Michelle) Morris of Waseca.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two uncles, Jim Sybilrud and Steve Manthe, one niece, Emma, and grandparents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
