Sharon Reger May 22, 1936 - March 22, 2009

Sharon L. Reger, age 72 of Waseca, died on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 26th at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Martin Schaefer, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Waseca. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Thursday afternoon for one hour prior to services, at church. There will be a 5:00 p.m. Catholic Daughter rosary Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home. Sharon Lee was born on May 22, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Donald and Melba (Stocum) Albert. She graduated from high school in Minneapolis, and worked as a telephone operator in the Twin Cities. She was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Reger on November 10, 1956 at St. John''s Catholic Church in Hopkins. Sharon and Bob lived in Mankato until moving to Waseca in 1959. Sharon''s life was devoted to raising her family, and serving her church and community. She was a faithful volunteer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, and a long time member of the Catholic Daughters of America-Court Sacred Heart #1424. She also volunteered her time to the Waseca Hospital Auxiliary (past president) and other organizations in the Waseca Community. Sharon enjoyed flower gardening, crossword puzzles, and playing International Rummy with her family (she hated the 3 of 3 hand!). Sharon and Bob enjoyed 13 wonderful winters together in Brownsville, Texas. Sharon is survived by her children: Mark (Nancy) Reger of Waseca, Gregory (Martha) Reger of Prior Lake, Paul (Judy) Reger of Lindstrom, and Jon (Amy) Reger of Waseca; by her eight grandchildren, Jason, Brent, Chris, Matt, Eric, Ben, Cory, and Alyssa; by her great grandchildren, Tyson, Logan, and Blake; by her sister Debbie; by her sisters-in-law Pat (Bob) Bogart of St. Cloud and Elaine Reger of Finlayson, and her brothers-in-law Glenn (Marilyn) Reger of New Hope, Jim (Violet) Reger of Pelican Rapids, and Richard (Carol) Reger of Hibbing. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Bob on May 9, 2006 and her son Kent in 1979.
