MAE ELIZABETH SCHUETTE , age 83 of Waterville, died on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Janesville Nursing Home in Janesville.
           Â
Born in Waterville on February 8, 1930, Mae was the daughter of Seger and Helen (Kritzer) Seljeskog.  Growing up she attended country school district #7496 near Waterville.  On August 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to Norval Glenn Schuette at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Waterville.  She farmed with her husband and raised children full time until the early 1960’s when she started working at the Minnesota State School and Hospital in Faribault.  She worked there until the early 1980’s.  She then went to work in Waseca at Herter’s, Inc. until they closed their doors.  She also worked part time cleaning cabins in Waterville and offices at Brown Printing in Waseca.   She also worked for Wayne and Wanda Prosch as a telephone answering service for their funeral home for many years.   Mae enjoyed feeding the birds, gardening and tending to her flowers, playing cards with her grandkids, working puzzle books and listening to the Minnesota Twins.  More than anything, however, she loved spending time with her family.

Mae is survived by four children, Betty Schuette of Waseca, Charles Schuette of Owatonna, Susan (Randy) Wobschall of Waseca, and Lori Gehring of Waterville; daughter-in-law Candice Schuette of Byron; sons-in-law David Heskett and Steve Gehring of Waseca; ten grandchildren, Charity (Tyler) Haugen of Sartell, Barb (Dallas) Jensen of Dodge Center, Billy Jo (Mike) Sackett of Dodge Center, Richard Schuette Jr. of Byron, Brandon (Stephanie) Schuette of Byron, Travis (Tina) Wobschall of Waseca, Sarah (David) Arnold of Waseca, Joseph Gehring of Montgomery, Breanna Gehring of Mankato, and Corwyn Gehring of Waseca; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Janette Byrne of Waterville; one brother-in-law Dwain (Elaine) Schuette of Apache Junction, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; one daughter, Mary Heskett; and one son, Richard Schuette Sr.

A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Marilyn Waldschmidt, Deb and Steve Cook, and Cory and Lana Hunt.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PMon Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Dennis Funeral and Cremation Services in Waterville, with Rev. Glenn Korb officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
