Sandra Kay "Sandy" (Burke) (Bauernfeind) Roemhildt

SANDRA KAY “SANDY” (BURKE) (BAUERNFEIND) ROEMHILDT, age 81 of Janesville, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.

She was born on May 21, 1943, a daughter of Walter and Lorraine (Kenow) Burke. On February 12, 1994, she married Gary Roemhildt at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Sandy was very kind and joyful, with a contagious laugh. She loved dancing, birdwatching, gardening, knitting, getting her nails done, Elvis, and purple. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and her family the most. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. 

Sandy is survived by her husband; her children, Tammy VanZuilen, Nancy (Tom) Story, Sheri Schrot (John Steffens), Scott (Amy) Roemhildt, Heidi (Todd) Kalisch, Jon (Darcy) Roemhildt; grandchildren, Sarah, Cammie, Andrew, Amanda, Autumn, Garret, Dillon, Corynn, Cody, Mitch, Reese, Morgan, Nora, Jack; 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Paula (Ron) Lips, SueEllen (John) Powers. She is preceded in death by, her parents; son Danny; grandson Chad; brother Gary, and sister Lynne.

Services will be held, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Visitation will be held at the church, two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. John’s Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Janesville.
