SANDRA DIANE “DAISY” DANIEL, age 76 of Waseca, entered her heavenly home surrounded by her family, Friday, April 26, 2024, at her home in Waseca.
She was born, August 3, 1947, in Cooperstown, North Dakota, a daughter of the late Joe and Alice (Price) Johnson. Sandy attended Bemidji High School. She was on the student council, a Hi-Fi Queen, a cheerleader, and later, Miss Bemidji. She graduated with the Class of 1965. On June 22, 1968, she married her high school sweetheart Craig Daniel at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bemidji. Together they moved to Otisco where they would raise their two children, Troy, and Kari Jo. Sandy was a very welcoming, caring, and giving person who always put others before herself and left a remarkable impact on all the lives she touched. She was a member of Real-Life Church in Waseca, The Garden Club of Waseca, and Wilton River Riders Saddle Club, in Waseca. She loved birdwatching, listening to her family play her favorite music, but above all, spending time with her family; she was deeply devoted to her faith, and made great efforts to spread the word of God to her children and grandchildren throughout their lives. She spent many years of her life doing various jobs with the intent of helping others. One of her many joys in life was sharing her faith by selflessly putting others before herself, to ensure they felt special and loved.
Sandy struggled with her health for many years of her life. Throughout all the years of struggle and pain, she always remained with a positive outlook for the future, the thought that life is supposed to be good, and to be thankful for every day. Through many years of treatments and healthcare visits, she always aimed to bring her touch of happiness and joy to all those around her, including fellow patients and hospital staff. Fortunately, for a selfless, loving person such as Sandy, her brother Rick was a compatible match to gift her one of his kidneys, which got her through the last 40 years of her life.
Sandy is survived by her husband; her children, Troy (Renee) Daniel of Waseca, Kari Jo (Craig) Schumacher of Waseca; grandchildren, Jackson (Megan Rabenberg) Mueller of Montgomery, Carson Schumacher of Waseca, Denver Daniel of Waseca, Mariah Jo (David Monroe) Daniel of Waseca, Korbin Schumacher of Waseca; siblings, Jerry (Kathy) Johnson, Ron (Lin) Johnson, Roger Johnson, Rick (Marlene) Johnson, Cindy (Dan) Egli; her goddaughter, Mary Olson; her grand puppies, Cash, Waylon, Charlie; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, all of whom she will forever leave her impeccable mark on. She is preceded in death by her parents; foster daughter, Ludean Hubel; sister, Beverly Jane Johnson; brother-in-law, Fred Tegtmeier, and sister-in-law, Mary Johnson.
The family will host a memorial service at Troy and Renee’s home, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at 31229 128th St. Waseca, Minnesota 56093. A celebration of Sandy’s life will continue throughout the evening following the service. Daisy’s nephew and niece, Rev. Joe and Amanda Johnson will officiate the service. All family, friends, and anyone whose lives were touched by Sandy, are invited to attend.
