Russell D. Good
RUSSELL D. GOOD, age 83 of Waseca died on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Born on January 25, 1935 in Mankato, Minnesota he was the son of Alvah and Delores (Solseth) Good. Russ graduated from Waseca High School in 1952 and married Marlene Seim on September 2, 1956 in Waseca. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1958 until his honorable discharge in 1960. Russ worked for Patton Chevrolet and later owned Phillips 66 stations in Waseca. He also taught auto mechanics at the Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca for several years before working at Brown Printing Co. as a bindery supervisor for 29 years until his retirement in 1997. In his retirement years, Russ worked as a school crossing guard for 10 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, doing stained glass, wood carving, genealogy and traveling with his wife. Russ also volunteered at the hospital and could fix anything. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca where he was an usher.
Russ is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlene of Waseca; three sons, Steve (Lori) Good of St. Paul, Dan (Jayne) Good of Lakeville, and Mike (Crissy) Good of Chaska; six grandchildren, Ben Good, Tim Good, Ryan Good, Alyssa (Matt) MacDowell, Evan Good, and Emily Good; and two great grandchildren, Luke and Ian MacDowell. Russ is also survived by one brother, Robert (Cathy) Good of Burnsville. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Beverly Byron; and one brother in infancy, James Good. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
