Ronald O Wiste June 26, 1944 - November 3, 2014

Ronald O. Wiste, age 70, of Janesville passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, with Rev. Larry Griffin officiating. Interment will be held at the Janesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to services on Friday.

Arrangements are being completed by Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville. Ron was born in Waseca to Ruth (Abraham) and Robert O. Wiste on June 26th, 1944. He grew up in Janesville, attending Trinity Lutheran School and graduating from Janesville Public School in 1962. He was proud to be a Golden Bear and excelled at basketball, baseball and football. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he remained a lifelong member. He married Barbara Hodapp (later divorced) and had two children, Rob and Keith. In 1982 he and Peggy (Bishop) Wiste were united in marriage and Paul and Catherine joined the family. Ron worked with his dad Bob at Wiste''s Food Market and later bought the business from him in 1980. Ron and Peggy operated the business until 1999 when ill health forced him to retire. He was an active member in the Janesville Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and Janesville American Legion. Ron loved his store, his town and his customers. He was an avid fan of Janesville/JWP athletics as well as the Vikings, Twins and Gophers.

Retirement was good. He and Peggy traveled, did some golfing and enjoyed spending time with their children and watching their grandchildrens'' sports and activities.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and son, Keith.

He Holly, Roger sister- nephews is survived Paul in- (Thelma), and law Nelson Bruce great by Sisters his (Corie), nieces and wife, Reba Noretta children and Corey, (Dick) nephews. Gilbert, Catherine and Johnson grandchildren, Sister- (Pat) and in- Rouleau, Roberta law Rob Amy (Sandy) (Bill) Sterling Bishop Johnson. and Wiste, and numerous Iris.
