RONALD J. LARSON, age 75 of Waseca, died on the afternoon of Monday, August 7, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family.
Ron was born in Waseca on March 28, 1948, to parents Harvey and Agnes (Mettler) Larson. He attended school at Sacred Heart in Waseca. While in school he worked part-time at Brown Printing and Countryside Motors in Waseca. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country in Germany. After his honorable discharge from the service, he returned to work at Brown Printing and continued that career for over thirty years. He later began working as a custodian for Waseca Public Schools. For the entirety of his working years he also spent many, many hours working with friends and family at Dave’s Body Shop in Waseca. Ron was married to Jean Weins for a time, and together they had one son. He was later married to Linda Krampitz and they had two more boys before divorcing. Ron loved most anything that had a motor. He was a “walking encyclopedia” of car knowledge and loved working on cars and motorcycles. He spent most weekends at car shows and has owned and worked on more cars than his family can count. He was a “want-to-be” handyman that loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He could always be counted on to hand out orange Trident Gum (or sometimes black licorice gum) to the grandkids, and dog biscuits to the family dogs.
Ron is survived by three sons, Brandon (Staci) Larson of Waseca, Dustin Larson of Waseca, and Dillon Larson and his girlfriend Alexis Barela of Waseca; four grandchildren, William, Lincoln, Hendrick, and Sawyer Larson; and three siblings, Warren (Joann) Larson of Marshall, Carol (Orlo) Evans of Waseca, and Faye (Dennis) Malecha of Waseca; as well as two very special friends, Al and Sherrye Kuchenbecker of Waseca. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; a brother in infancy, Wayne Larson, another brother and his wife, Harlan (Donna) Larson; and a nephew, Michael Evans.
