Ronald D. Baker Sr., age 75, of Lonsdale, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Interment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis with military honors.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Ronald Dale Baker Sr., the son of Paul and Katheryn (Irwin) Baker, was born on August 13, 1937 in Noblesville, IN. He graduated from Jackson Central High School in Arcadia, IN. Ron married Janet Mohler on June 20, 1959 in Grand Rapids, MN. She preceded him in death on October 24, 2000. He served in the U.S. Air Force and for 20 years was a computer operator at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. Following his retirement he was a security officer for six years at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport.
He is survived by two children, Toni Wayman of Rosemount and Ronald Baker Jr. of Lonsdale; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four siblings, Carol (Granville) Baber, Robert Baker, Michael (Paula) Baker, and Basil (Shara) Baker, all of Arcadia, IN; and many nieces, nephew, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; parents; daughter, Kelly Taylor; and mother and father-in-law.
