Roland G. Krenke

ROLAND G. KRENKE, age 92, of Owatonna passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Birchwood Cottages Assisted Living in Owatonna.

Roland was born on October 24, 1930 in Lemond Township in Steele County. He was the son of William and Wanda (Willert) Krenke. He attended school at District 54 Steele Co. On August 22, 1959, Roland married Betty Page at St. John Lutheran Church in Northfield. Roland and Betty enjoyed traveling out west for many years, especially to the national parks. They enjoyed dancing.

Roland farmed the family farm until 1966 when they moved to Owatonna. He was employed at OMC, Norwest Bank and Federated Insurance until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church of Meriden until 1966 when he joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. He was an usher at Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Owatonna Eagles Club for many years. In Roland’s younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with family and friends.

Roland is survived by his wife, Betty Krenke of Owatonna; sons, William Krenke of Medford, MN, James (Pam) Krenke of Owatonna; daughter, Pamela Ann Krenke of Owatonna; grandchildren, Cory Krenke of Owatonna, Karissa (Andrew) Van Osdale of Owatonna; great-grandchildren, Lila, Piper, and Tucker Van Osdale of Owatonna; sister, Laura Truebenbach of Willmar.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Loretta (Harold) Abbe, Lenora (Marvin) Bratsch, Luella (Rueben) Fischer; and brother-in-law, Hilbert Truebenbach.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Meriden, MN.
