Rodney Robert Brandt

RODNEY BRANDT, age 71 of Janesville died on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born on March 4, 1952 in Wells, Minnesota, he was the son of Robert and Agnes (Lienke) Brandt.  He graduated from Waldorf-Pemberton High School.  Rod was united in marriage to Linda Schubbe.  Together they had one child and were later divorced.  Rod later married Stacy Johnson on July 30, 1999 in Waseca and they had one child together.   Through the years, Rod worked a variety of jobs including farming, hauling propane and grain, driving truck, delivering milk for JR Trucking, and tending bar.   He had been a long-time employee at Winegar Inc. in Waseca.   He was also a member of the volunteer Fire Department in Waldorf.   Rod enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulling and spending time with his family and friends.  

He is survived by his wife, Stacy of Janesville; his children, Jess (Angie) Brandt of Waseca and their children, Kera, Erika, Kyle, and Jory; and Alli Brandt of Janesville; step-children, Cody (Christina) Coy of Janesville and their son, Joshua; and Brittany Wylie of Hutchinson and her children Rayne and Hanna.   He is also survived by two sisters, Hazel (Gary) Owens of Waseca and Susan Kipp of Waldorf and many nieces, nephews, and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Bob Kipp; and his loving companion, Dexter.

Private family services are being held.  A public visitation will be held at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
