Robert W. McCoy, age 73, died peacefully in his home on October 4, 2018 with his loving wife Carol by his side. A mass to celebrate Bob will be held on Friday, October 12, 5:00 pm, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 111 4th St NW, Waseca MN 56093, with a visitation preceding the mass from 3 pm 5 pm.
Bob was born on May 3, 1945 in Waseca, Minnesota to Wayne and Clementine (Munsch) McCoy. He grew up on the family farm with his four siblings and graduated high school in 1963 from Waldorf-Pemberton High School where he met Carol Maass. They married in 1965, had a daughter, Tracy, and settled in Mankato; in 1976, they built a house in Eagle Lake, where they still resided. Bob attended Mankato State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He spent his career in sales for 3M, Pitney-Bowes, and owning a hearing aid sales business. He often said he could "sell ice to Eskimos", taking pride in his sales career.
He was an avid outdoorsman in his younger years, loving to hunt and fish. He was a fisherman to the end, taking great pride in his boat and Chevy pickup he towed it with. After retirement, he spent summers on Fish Lake in his motorhome as well as time in Eagle Lake visiting neighbors and riding around the local lakes on his ATV, and mowing neighborhood lawns on his riding lawn mower. He was a talented handyman and could come up with a fix for just about anything. Family gatherings were very important to Bob, especially Christmas. He loved to give gifts and play cards and games with family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol (Maass) McCoy; his daughter, Tracy (Donovan Taylor) McCoy and granddaughter Mackenzie; brother Don (Kelly) McCoy; sister Sharon (Scott) Kaplan; brother John (Jana) McCoy; sister Debra (Eric) Seagrist; aunts Blanche (Harmon) Engelstad and Regina Draheim; many brother-and-sister in-laws, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Urn bearers are: John McCoy, Scott Kaplan, Eric Seagrist, Mike OBrien, Marvin Maass and Merlin Maass. Bob will be laid to rest at St. Marys Cemetary in Waseca county at a date to be determined. Memorials are donor choice.
