Robert Sartor August 14, 1943 - September 15, 2011

Robert M. Sartor, age 68, of Faribault, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Private family interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault. Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to services. The family prefers that memorials be directed to Faribault Area Hospice or to the Faribault High School Booster Club, Fitness Building Fundraiser. Robert Marion Sartor, the son of Wilfred and Mary P. (Reuvers) Sartor, was born on August 14, 1943 in Faribault. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1962. Following high school Bob attended Mankato State University and earned his degree in accounting. After college Bob began a 35 year career with Northern States Power Company, retiring in 1998 as a construction superintendent. Bob was married to Judy Prehn and they later divorced. In 1975 he was united in marriage to Pamela Bilben in Brookings, SD. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all types of hunting and fishing. He was a self taught carpenter and also enjoyed playing cards, keeping up with the different sports teams, watching western''s and most of all enjoyed spending time with all of his family. He is survived by his wife Pamela Sartor of Faribault; by five children, Rebecca (Randy) Grems of Faribault, Roberta Hamilton of Coeur d''Alene, Idaho, James R. (Tracey) Sartor of Faribault, Donald Sartor of Faribault and Debra (Daniel) Weinberger of Faribault; by nine grandchildren, Kristina Findley, Katelyn Grems, Jenny DeGroot, Jesse DeGroot, Molly Sartor, Porter Sartor, Liz Sartor, Bradlee Sartor and Samuel Weinberger; by three great grandchildren, Matthew, Emma and Brayden Findley; by six siblings, Bill (Gini) Sartor of Faribault, Jim (Nancy) Sartor of Faribault, Susan Sartor (Roy Berger) of St. Paul, MN, Pat (John) Mullenmeister of Prior Lake, MN, Cindy (Jack) Holmstrom of Savage, MN and Dave (Jean) Sartor of Nerstrand, MN and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Mary Sartor.
