Rita A. Wendinger January 6, 1923 - March 16, 2015

Rita Ann Wendinger, age 92, of Waseca passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Koda Living Center in Owatonna, MN

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Father Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21st from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart.

Arrangements are being completed by McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca.

Rita Ann was born on January 6, 1923 in Waseca, MN to Louis and Mary Matz. She grew up on the family farm in Waseca and attended country school in Waseca County. She was united in marriage in 1942 to Henry I. Myers until his death in 1957. She was united in marriage to Cletus Wendinger on October 3, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Rita worked at Birds Eye Foods for many years and retired from Brown Printing after 15 years. She was a long time and faithful member of Sacred Hearth Church in Waseca. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Rita was a fabulous cook and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. Rita is survived by her children, Shirley (Wallace) Schoeb of Nissua, Sharon (John) Olson of Wabasha, Michael Myers of Waseca, John Myers of rural Waseca, Paul Myers of Tea, SD, Timothy (Mary) Wendinger of Mankato, and James Wendinger of Owatonna; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by sisters, Eleanor Templin and Irene Parent; brothers, Merlin Matz, Lawrence Matz, Ambrose Matz, Donald Matz, Leo Matz, and infant twin siblings; husbands, Henry I. Myers on Nov. 4, 1957 and Cletus Wendinger on Aug. 6, 2010.

Casketbearers are Ann Schoeb, Mark Schoeb, Johnny Olson, Mike Myers, Amber (Myers)

Jaros, and Kristi Myers.
