RICHARD "RICK" EDWARD GILSDORF, JR, age 60 of New Richland, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Born in Hastings on September 27, 1958, Rick was the son of Richard and Mary (Beaham) Gilsdorf.  He graduated from Park Senior High School with the class of 1976.  Rick worked at Viracon in Owatonna for over twenty years.  Known to be an independent, purposeful, hard-working man, he positioned himself to retire early and has been enjoying himself for the past several years.  He loved cycling, motorcycles, fishing, shooting sports, feeding wildlife around his home, and crafting "whirligigs" from recycled and found materials.  He had a very special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews.  Rick was a member of the NRA and several gun clubs, and was an active participant in AA where he was often invited to speak to local groups.
Rick is survived by his parents, Richard and Mary Gilsdorf of Elysian; four siblings, Donna (Ken) Lorch of Leesburg, FL, Debra (Ron) Sommers of Sleepy Hollow, IL, John Gilsdorf of Lake City, MN, and Gerald (Stacy) Gilsdorf of Oakdale, MN; two nieces; and two nephews. A private family gathering will be held at a later time.
