Richard 'Jack' Carlson May 28, 1944 - December 13, 2012

Richard "Jack" Carlson Sr., age 68, of Faribault, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault following an extended illness.

Private family services will be held.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Faribault Area Hospice in memory of Jack.

Richard Jack Carlson Sr., the son of Richard E. and Helen M. "Bud" (England) Carlson, was born on May 28, 1944 in Faribault. He attended Faribault Senior High School with the class of 1962. His family moved to Meadville, PA in 1961 and Jack graduated from Meadville High School with the class of 1962. After high school Jack attended Erie Business School to earn a degree in Accounting. While he was at business school, Jack met Bonnie Anderson and they were united in marriage on June 23, 1965 in Meadville, PA and in 1969 they moved back to Faribault. Jack began working at Folsom''s Radio & TV and then in 1980 went to work for McQuay International, from where he retired in 2010. In retirement Jack went to work for R& S Transportation until his illness required him to retire in 2012. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also an avid Bow Hunter and Trout Fisherman.

The family would like to say thanks to their many friends for their help and support during Jack''s illness.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Bonnie Carlson of Faribault; by two sons, Richard "Rick" (Jennifer) Carlson Jr. of Waterville, MN and David (Rhonda) Carlson of Elysian, MN; by nine grandchildren, Trisha, Heather (Jimmy Kanzenbach), Christopher, Erynn (Bill Conlin), Kaitlyn, Miranda, Alexis Sanders, Drew Sanders and Koby Sanders; by five great

grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Alec Carlson.
