Richard 'Dick' Sutter
Richard "Dick" Elmer Sutter, age 86 of Morristown, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at St. Lucas Nursing Home in Faribault.

Richard was born on June 7, 1931 in Waterville, Minnesota to Elmer and Marion (Bosacker) Sutter. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1950.  He married Irene Mlenek on April 2, 1965 in Waterville.

After his graduation, Dick served in the United States Navy as a ships cook from 1950-1954.  He was stationed on the U.S.S. ROCKBRIDGE.  Dick was employed at Wycheck, Butler Buildings, and Herters before retiring from McQuays.

Dick was an avid sportsman.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and his best friend, Donnie Bremer. Dick enjoyed traveling to ten Navy ship reunions. His fondest memories were watching his family play high schools sports and coaching womens softball.  Through his years, he would pass time by watching Waterville-Elysian-Morristown high school sports, the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He also enjoyed early morning coffees at Hy-Vee.

Dick is survived by his wife of 52 years, Irene; his three children Lori (Dan) Espeland of Truman, Penny (William) Mulcahey of Waterville, and Jerry (Barb) Sutter of Weston, WI; his six grandchildren Nicole (special friend Jeremiah Morgan) Condon of Waseca, Justin (special friend Amelia Danzer) Sutter of Waseca, Loren (Natalie) Espeland of Winnebago, Christoffer Mulcahey of Waterville, Hunter and Delaney Sutter of Weston, WI; his great-grandchildren Riley, Gavin, Kodi and Greyson.  He is also survived by siblings, Ernest Sutter of Morristown; Audrey Hayes; JoAnne (Delancy) Sutlief; Janette (Robert) Larson all of Waseca, Lyle (Nana) Sutter of Waterville; and many nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Thelma Morsching; and 2 siblings in infancy.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm and continue on Friday, one hour before services at the church. 
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:30 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morristown with Pastor Travis Loeslie officiating.  Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
