Reynold "Reyne" Anton Schlosser of Waseca, MN passed away peacefully after battling lung cancer on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Reyne was born on April 5, 1934 in Mott, North Dakota. He graduated from Mott High School in 1952. He was in the US Army in Germany from 1954-1955. Reyne graduated from Valley City State College with a B.S. in Education. He taught high school Social Studies and Driver''s Education in Harvey, North Dakota from 1958-1963. While at Harvey, Reyne coached various high school sports. On August 13, 1960, he married Carol Gludt. In 1963, Reyne left the education field and joined JCPenney Company managing stores in Jackson and Waseca, Minnesota. In 1983, Reyne and Carol purchased the Sears Catalog store in Waseca and ran that until it closed in 1993. Reyne worked at Charlie''s Hardware Store from 1993-2014.

Reyne was active in the Chamber of Commerce. He helped start Moonlite Madness and the Farmer''s Market. He was an usher for many years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. He belonged to the American Legion and VFW and worked with the band boosters and the scholarship committee for Waseca High School. He sponsored many softball teams and helped start the Waseca Merchants baseball team. Reyne enjoyed cooking, making candy, cheering on Minnesota sports teams, bird watching, watching his grandchildren playing sports, traveling, and gardening. Reyne could talk to anyone about anything at anytime - he was a great conversationalist.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Schlosser; 4 children, Danette (Tom) Johnson of Plymouth, MN, Brendan (Karen) Schlosser of Madison, AL, Jay (Lisa) Schlosser of Apple Valley, MN, and Nancy (Troy) Voth of Mazeppa, MN; 7 grandchildren, Matt Johnson, Katie Johnson, Lauren Schlosser, Jared Schlosser, Joe Schlosser, Erika Schlosser, and Parker Voth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Otelia Schlosser; two brothers, and five sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred

Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Father Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 31, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca with a prayer service beginning at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
