RAMONA IRIS HANKS, age 89 of Waseca, died at Foxdale Memory Care on January 1, 2019.
Born in Mankato on September 23, 1929, Ramona was the daughter of George and Olga (McKinney) Coy.  She went to school in Waldorf and graduated with the class of 1948.  On January 1, 1950 she married Lawrence Hanks in Waterville.  They farmed in rural Waterville and Waldorf before moving to Waseca to farm in 1957.  Ramona worked as a farmer alongside her husband until 1990.  She enjoyed listening to old-time music, dancing, gardening, reading, sewing, quilting, fishing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ramona is survived by her six children, Teresa (Cisco) Shere of Malvern, IA, Audrey (James) Klukas of Owatonna, Ralph Hanks of Waseca, Ray (Deb) Hanks of Waseca, Carol Hanks (Paul Osdoba) of Waseca, and Connie (Drew) Grandia of Owatonna; ten grandchildren, Crystal Hanks Childs, Serena Shere, Steven Hanks, Jenny Klukas, Kristina Stagman, Andrew Hanks, Dalton Peltz, Kyle Hanks, Benjamin Grandia, and Kaitlyn Grandia; ten great-grandchildren, Kylee Hanks, Marieke Childs, Abel Peroutka, Sebastian Hanks Richardson, Kira Peltz, Ashton Hanks, Ryker Peltz, Adler Childs, Logan Stagman, and Sawyer Stagman; and two brothers, George (Pat) Coy of Mantorville, and Burt (Lois) Coy of Waseca.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Lester, Clifford, and Ronald Coy; one sister, Betty Gruntzke; and three grandsons, Justin Shere, Clinton Klukas, and Joshua Hanks.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.
