Quintin Clark
Quintin Harvey Clark, age 85, formerly of Rochester and currently of Waseca, died Saturday, April 2nd, at Colony Court Care Suites.
Quintin was born on April 10, 1930 in Walker, Minnesota to Randolph and Florence (Whiting) Clark. He graduated from Laporte High School in 1948. Quintin attended Bemidji State College and received a degree in Business Administration in 1952. He met his wife, Beverly and they had their first date April 7, 1954 and were married on December 4 of that same year in West Concord, Minnesota.
They relocated to Rochester, Minnesota where, in 1956, Quintin became an insurance agent and started his own agency, the Quintin Clark Insurance Agency. He was a gifted salesman and his agency flourished.
Quintin was known for his gift of storytelling and joke telling. He had a vast repertoire of jokes which he was more than willing to share with family and friends.
Quintins father instilled in him a love of fishing, hunting, and picking wild rice. After he sold his insurance agency in 1992, Quintin and Beverly moved up to a log home on Zippel Bay on Lake of the Woods. Here he was able to pursue his love of the outdoors daily. Quintin spent countless hours searching for wild mushrooms and picking choke cherries, grapes, lingonberries, and blueberries. He had a huge garage built with its own kitchen where he made these berries into jams and jellies for his friends.
Quintin was taught to love Jesus at an early age, and accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of twelve. He was active in Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Rochester for 55 years where he held a variety of offices on the church board.
In 2000, due to the loss of his eyesight, Quintin and Beverly moved back to Rochester and in 2010 they moved to Waseca.
Quintin was a man who loved God, his family, and his friends. His family is comforted by knowing that Quintin is in the presence of his Lord and Savior; and, they smile when they realize that the words of one of Quintins favorite hymns are true for him today, "Was blind, but now I see."
Quintin is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beverly Clark of Waseca; two children, Andrew (Darlene) Clark of Carrollton, TX and Sally (Jim) Isder of Waseca; five grandchildren, Nicole (Mike) Barnett of Dallas, TX, Terri (Mike) Calley of Big Spring, TX, Randy Clark of Carrollton, TX, Kati Sorenson (fiance David Pike) of Omaha, NE, and Carly Isder of Waseca; and two step-grandchildren, Josiah (Bonnie) Isder of New Richland, MN and Makayla (Clint) Selvik of Waseca; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Philip (Helen) Clark of Auburn, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carol Rudd; one brother, James; and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Christ Community Church in Waseca. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM and continue until the time of the service at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Manna Christian Camp or Camp Victory.
