QUEEN ESTHER JOHNSON, age 59 of Waseca, died in the early morning of Monday, March 20, 2023 at Ecumen Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Born in Chicago on February 13, 1964, Queen was the daughter of Jesse and Zealo (Johnson) Williams. She attended DuSable High School in Chicago before picking up and moving to Waseca to offer her family a better life. She worked at Itron in Waseca and SPX in Owatonna before returning to Chicago for a short time to attend college. She was trained to become a medical assistant, and then returned to Waseca with her husband, George Anderson. Queen was a God-fearing, compassionate, kind woman who fiercely loved her family, the color purple, Tupac Shakur’s music, and rooting for the underdog in any situation. She also loved dancing, music, reading, was a fantastic BBQ cook, and was famous for her caramel cake. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
Queen is survived by four children, Anthony Johnson of Mankato, Quintin Johnson of Waseca, Quenilla (Matt) Evans of Faribault, and Kylie Lando of Waseca; nineteen grandchildren; nine siblings, Willie Williams, James Johnson, Linda Love, Stanford Williams, Emma Williams, Jesse Johnson, Chrondalet Johnson, Zeola Johnson, and Charles Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; and three siblings, Yvonne Williams, Johnny Johnson, and George Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Waseca Christian Assembly, with Rev. Brad Wickersheim officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
