Peggy Anne Willson was born on July 29, 1958, in Virginia, Minnesota to Michael and Mary Ellen (Towner) Hoehn. She was raised in rural Madison Lake and was a 1976 graduate of Janesville High School where she was a member of National Honor Society. She continued her education, receiving a degree in Horticulture and later she became a Registered Nurse. Most of her nursing career was spent at the Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato. She also worked at various nursing homes in the area, most recently working at LakeShore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.
Peggy was very smart and thrived on learning, she was always reading and challenging her siblings in different subjects. She had a love for many things, some of these included shopping, gardening, her cats, giving gifts and needle work. Above all her family was most important to her. She truly enjoyed spending time with her son, sisters, other family and friends.
On Wednesday evening, April 12, 2017, Peggy died following a short battle with cancer at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.
Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Services ~ McRaith Chapel in Waseca. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Following the service there will be a reception held at the Waseca VFW Sweet-Sommers Post 1642. www.wasecafuneral.com
Peggy is survived by her son, Matt Allen of Waseca; step sons: Michael Hendrix of Lake Crystal and Stephen Allen of St. Peter; sisters: Nancy Hoehn of Waseca, Sharon Born of Waterville, Janet (Tom) Benjegerdes of Mankato, and Ann (Vince OConnor) Harris of Ely; her dear friend Susan Gersch; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael in infancy; former husband Ron Allen; and step son, Dustin Allen.
