Paul Immanuel Mueller, age 72 passed away unexpectedly on his farm on April 3, 2020.
Paul was born July 4, 1947 in Mankato, MN to Immanuel and Malena (Bauer) Mueller. He graduated from Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca, MN in 1965 and went on to become a feed salesman for Dekalb, Watkins, and Standard Feed Company. His second career was as a
machinist for Winegar’s in Waseca.
Paul married Lorraine Butler on May 23, 1970 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Waseca. They made their home in Waldorf, MN for more than 40 years before building on the family farm north of Waldorf. Paul was a lifelong member at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Freedom Township near
Janesville, serving as a Sunday school teacher and elder for many, many years.
Paul was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and hobby farming, and could identify almost any species of plant or animal. His favorite pastimes were telling jokes, being grumpy, knowing useless facts about everything under the sun, taking vitamins, buying random things online, and giving his grandkids “the claw.” He was truly proud of his children and grandchildren and would brag about them to anyone who would listen.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lorraine; son Jesse of Alma City, MN; daughters Nicole (Rob) Nelson of Las Vegas, NV and Aleta (Jeff) Lin of Mankato, MN; daughter-in-law Amy (Steve) Lundell of Albert Lea; 15 grandchildren Dustin Sonnek, Nathaniel, Shane and Malanie Engel-Mueller; Gus, Felix, Milo, Liza, and Maisie Nelson; Gemma, Enzo, and Eisley Lin; Kaitlin, Thomas, and Annabelle Lundell; brothers Theodore (Dori) Mueller of Cheyenne, WY and Mark (Helen) Mueller of Appleton, MN; sisters Renata (Patrick) Gordon of Owatonna and Rebecca Mueller of Waseca; brothers-in-law Perry Butler, Dalen Butler, Brian (Vicki) Butler, Steve Butler, Randy (Sonia) Butler, and Dan (Tonya) Butler; sisters-in law Mona (Donald) McMartin, Rhonda (Richard) Egan, Veletta (Todd) Gartner, Wendy Butler, and Nancy DeSota-Butler; by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons Matthew (2000) and William (1998); brothers-in-law Loren, Roger and Rodney Butler; and nephew Adam Bahlmann.
A memorial service is tentatively being planned for his birthday, July 4, 2020.
