Patrick G. Ryan, age 76 of Janesville, died on May 23, 2010 at Immanuel-St. Joseph''s Hospital in Mankato. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 28th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville with Fr. Peter Klein, Celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Ann Cemetery, Janesville. The Ryan Family will greet friends on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Friday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. There will be an 8:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus prayer service Thursday evening, at the funeral home. Patrick George was born on September 15, 1933 in Janesville, Minnesota to John and Marie (Schorn) Ryan. He graduated form Janesville High School in 1954. Pat owned and operated Pat''s Mobil in Janesville for many years. On October 23, 1971 he was united in marriage to Mary Majerus at St. Mary''s Catholic Church in Bellechester, MN. Over the years Pat worked several jobs including the Janesville Creamery, Janesville Public Schools, and Target in Mankato, retiring in September of 2007. In December of 2007 Pat was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, of which there is no cure. He spent his last years on oxygen. Pat was an active member of the Janesville Community serving on the Janesville Planning and Zoning Board, the Janesville Chamber of Commerce, and the Janesville Volunteer Fire Dept., retiring in 1989 after 20 years of service. Pat was a lifelong member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. He was a 3rd degree member of the St. Ann''s Knights of Columbus Council #8184 and a 4th degree member of the Leo Welsh Assembly #552 Knights of Columbus. He also served on the St. Ann Cemetery Board, and was a longtime member of the Irish-American Club of Southern Minnesota. In 1999 the club honored Pat and Mary as Mr. and Mrs. Emerald Isle. Pat is survived by his wife Mary and children Faith Ryan and Chris Ryan, all of Janesville; by his sister Donna Stevens of Mapleton and brother Robert (Blue) Ryan Salyersville, KY; by his sisters-in-law Esther Ryan of Janesville, Betty Ryan of Pequot Lakes, and Angie Majerus of Bellechester; by his brother-in-law Cecil McNamara of Goodhue; by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his five brothers Daniel, Joseph, Kenneth, James, and Jerome "Paul"; by his brothers-in-law Norman Stevens and Lloyd Majerus; by his sisters-in-law Viola Ryan, Dorothy Ryan, and Rita McNamara.
