Patrick 'Pat' McCusker April 22, 1924 - March 25, 2015

Patrick "Pat" McCusker, age 90, of Faribault, MN, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Piper''s Good Tidings Home for Seniors in rural Faribault.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville, MN (7525 Dodd Road, Faribault). Interment with military honors will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Patrick William McCusker was born April 22, 1924 to Edward and Helen (Caron) McCusker. He was a lifelong Faribault resident. Immediately following graduation from Faribault High School (1943) he joined the US Army to serve in WWII. After basic training in the United States his company was sent to New Zealand for additional training and preparation for combat. His company was then stationed in Luzon, Philippines for battle. While in the service he was wounded, hospitalized, and finally returned to his family in Faribault, MN. He was honored with medals for his service, sacrifice, and bravery. Among them were the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and a Citation from the President of the Philippines. Following the war he was a member of the Faribault Drum and Bugle Corps, performing in many local and regional parades and competitions. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 43, and the Knights of Columbus.

On June 3, 1948 he married the love of his life, Mary (Carole) Brown. They were blessed with 49 years together until Carole''s death in 1996. Pat''s electrical career began when he was hired as an apprentice electrician for Foss Electric. He then pursued his Journeymen License and subsequently went on to earn his Masters Electrician License, which he maintained into his 80''s. He was appointed the State Electrical Inspector for Rice County and surrounding Counties. Eventually he owned and operated his own business (Faribo Electric) and his son, Tim, worked alongside him until he sold the business in the 1980''s. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a man who treasured his relatives and

friends. May he and his beloved, departed wife rest forever in peace.

He is survived by four children, Kathryn (and Dennis) Piper, Patricia McCusker, Tim (and Maureen Pobanz) McCusker, Tahri (and Rev. David) Rohde; twelve grandchildren, Amy Piper Reuvers, Rebecca (and Shane) Molitor, Dan Piper (and special friend, Jillian Jarvis), MacKenzie Piper (and special friend, Wes Ries), Matthew (and Michelle) Martin, Daniel (and Charlotte) Martin, Luke McCusker, Beau (and Tanya) McCusker, Patrick Rohde, Mary Carole Rohde, Isaac Rohde and Samantha Rohde; seven great-grandchildren, Teddy Allen, Eric Allen, Morgan Reuvers, Parker Reuvers, Sophie Martin, Annie McCusker, and Jack McCusker; and many nieces and nephews.

He will also be greatly missed by his friends and staff at Piper''s Good Tiding''s Home for Seniors.

The family extends our sincere gratitude to Theresa Green, Diane Evans, and Dawn Caballero for the kind and generous care they bestowed upon him in his final years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a granddaughter, Molly Ann McCusker, a brother, Eddie McCusker, and by three sisters, Colleen McCusker, Jackie Zabel, and Kay Erickson.
