PAMELA LOUISE WHITENER, age 70, of Waterville, died Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.

She was born on June 27, 1954, in Oakland, California. She was the daughter of Thomas and Violet (Johnson) Rowen. On June 16, 1973, she was united in marriage to Michael Whitener at Church of the Wayfarer in Carmel, CA. She was the Director of Respiratory Therapy at Los Robles Regional Medical Center for several years. She was very family-oriented and loved spending time with her family, laughing and having a good time. She enjoyed the finer things in life, like shopping, good food, and one of her favorite things, was the breed of Maltese dogs. She was a member of the American Maltese Association, Spoiled Maltese groups, and she was an advocate for raising money for GME, a neurological disease affecting the central nervous system in canines and felines.

She is survived by her husband; children, Matthew (Veronica) Whitener of Waterville, Kim (Brent) Bauer of Waterville, Jennifer (John Tyson) Whitener of California; grandchildren, Kathryn, James, Henry, Charles, Jason, Mackenzie; sister, Jan (Paul) West of CA, and her Maltese pup, Emma. She is preceded in death by her parents and her Maltese dogs, Lola, Frank and Truffles.
