Nyla J. Budahl July 7, 1934 - August 19, 2014
Nyla J. Budahl, age 80, of Faribault, MN passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the District One Hospital in Faribault.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke''s Church in Faribault. Interment will be at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church. There will be no reviewal on Friday at the church.
Nyla Jeanne was born on July 7, 1934, in Wausau, WI to Martin and Anne (Parsch) Wilcott. She graduated from Wausau High School with the class of 1952. Nyla married David Budahl on March 28, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau. They lived in Rhinelander, WI for two years before moving to Faribault, and also had lived for a brief time in Rochester, MN. Dave preceded her in death on October 21, 2003. Nyla had worked at the Country Kitchen in Faribault for 10 years and Rochester for 5 years. She also worked at the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind for 15 years in the library. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Faribault Elks Club, Faribault Moose Lodge, and St. Luke''s Church. Nyla enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards, and "of course" going to casinos, and playing bingo and pull-tabs.
She is survived by her five children, Ric Budahl of Faribault, Kate (Tom) Goode of Plainview, MN, Carrie Budahl (and special friend, Paul Nimbar) of Faribault, Lisa (Richard) Sprandel of Walker, MN, and Becky (Gordon) Miller of Faribault; ten grandchildren, Megan (Darin) Hokanson, Cory (Jackie) Jensen, Cassi Budahl, Chenoa Donoghue, Barry Bosacker, Bret Bosacker, Mia Miller, Alex Miller, Sonja Kranzfelder, and Petra Kranzfelder; four great grandchildren, Daverus, Patrick, Jax, and Nixon; siblings, Clarke Wilcott of Wausau, Wesley (June) Wilcott of Wausau, Beverly (Ken) Ziegel of Wausau, and Karen Smith of San Diego, CA; and many other relatives and friends.
