Gina Marie Nowak

GINA MARIE NOWAK , age 51 of ELM Homes in Waseca, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Owatonna Hospital.

Born  in Blue Earth on October 31, 1961, Gina was a twin and one of five children born to Paul and Marion (Antonson) Nowak.  From six months of age to age eight Gina was cared for at the Julia Billart Home, from age eight to twelve she lived at the Faribault Regional Treatment Center, from age twelve to age 32 she lived at MVSAC in St. Peter, and from 32 to age 41 she was a resident of REM in Albert Lea.  Finally, in 2002, she moved to ELM Homes in Waseca.  In the time since then Gina has worked at Jobs Plus in Waseca.  Gina loved listening to music – especially “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, and receiving head massages.   She was a great friend to the ELM Homes residents she lived with and she touched countless lives.  She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her staff and friends in the community.

Gina is survived by her mother, her siblings, and her friends at ELM Homes and Jobs Plus in Waseca.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Rev. Greg Leif officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church on Monday.  Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont at a later date.  Dennis Funeral and Cremation Services in Waseca will be handling the arrangements.Â
