Nancy M. Dienst, age 67, of Faribault, MN passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following an extended illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 1, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville, MN. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.

Nancy Marie was born on February 1, 1947 in Kenyon, MN to Francis and Mary Rose (Houle) Kaul. She graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1965. Nancy married David Dienst on June 8, 1968 at the St. Lawrence Church in Faribault. She worked for 29 years with the Faribault School District in different capacities, retiring after many years with the Early Childhood program. Nancy often volunteered and was involved in many different organizations. As a youth she participated in 4-H, and later was a leader. She belonged to the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. At St. Patrick''s Church she participated in the Befrienders program, Bell Ringers, and the Church Council, among other things. In her spare time she enjoyed her flower garden. Most of all, Nancy treasured the time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, David Dienst of Faribault; sons, Dusty (Anne) Dienst, and Nick (Beth) Dienst, both of Faribault; grandchildren, Hunter, Bo, Sydney, and Mikayla Dienst; siblings, Jake (Judy) Kaul of Northfield, Gloria (Paul) Kennedy of Mankato, and Bill (Jean) Kaul of Dundas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Sammon, Jeanette Schmidt, Kenny (Bobbi) Dienst, Ed (Dee Dee) Dienst, and Janice Chappuis, all of Faribault; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant granddaughter, Lizzy Dienst; sisters and

brothers-in-law, Robert Dienst, PeeWee (John) Dickison, Bill Sammon, Warren Schmidt, and Bud Chappuis.

Memorials may be directed to the District One Hospital Cancer Center in memory of Nancy.
