NANCY JOAN LEE, age 82, of Duluth formerly of Waterville, died on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
Born on July 18, 1939, in Hibbing to Gerald and Alice (Gelineau) Kaiser. She attended Hibbing High School and graduated with the class of 1956. She married the love of her life, Richard Lee on June 18, 1961, and together raised two wonderful children. Nancy worked for many happy years and retired from the University of Minnesota as a clinic coordinator. She loved to play the piano and was quite good at it. She enjoyed playing while her daughter would sing her favorite song, “The Rose”. Nancy loved camping and fishing, she spent much of her life traveling around to campgrounds with her husband and children and later her grandchildren in a big RV. She and her husband enjoyed their retired years living in Cannon Gate Campground in Waterville, close to her son and grandchildren and was visited frequently by her daughter and family who had a camper nearby. Nancy made wonderful friends during her time at Cannon Gate Campground and would visit with friends daily while sitting on her lake front deck overlooking Lake Sakatah. In the winters, her and Richard enjoyed being snowbirds and spent their time in the sunshine of southern Texas. Nancy had many close friends in her Texas community and was even crowned her Texas park “Homecoming Queen”. She was known by many as “Fancy Nancy” as you would never catch her without her hair, makeup and jewelry fully done. She loved being a grandmother and in her free time enjoyed making bows and blankets for her grandchildren. She passed on this hobby to her granddaughters. Nancy was a dedicated Catholic and attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville for many years. She was adored by her family, especially her grandchildren who will all greatly miss her big pink kisses left on their cheeks.
