MYRON LEE WENDT, age 71 of Waseca died on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.
Born in Waseca on December 4, 1944, Myron was the son of Melvin Francis and Christine Louise (Johansen) Wendt.  He graduated from Waseca High School in 1962.  On May 4, 1968 he was married to Caryn Ackman at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland.  Myron enjoyed woodworking, collecting NASCAR memorabilia and watching all car and truck racing activities on television.  He and his wife Caryn enjoyed square dancing together for many years and even performed with three other couples square dancing on roller skates at the Minnesota Square Dance Convention.  He and his wife took many short vacations including his favorite one three years ago when they toured the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC and five different race tracks around the Charlotte area.  They enjoyed vacations around Key Stone, Deadwood, and going to the Buffalo Roundup a number of times in South Dakota.
Myron is survived by his wife Caryn of Waseca; one brother, Robert (Kathy) Wendt of Grand Rapids; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Roy Ticknor of LaCrosse, WI; a niece Kari (Doug) Jensen of Ireton, IA, a niece Amy Ticknor (Larry Daufenbach) and their son Isaac Daufenbach of LaCrosse, WI, a niece Molly Ticknor and her special friend Mike Leeper of Kansas City, MO, and a nephew Rob (Anne) Ticknor of Greenville, NC; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his mother-in-law, Bonita Ackman. A memorial service will be held at 2:30PM on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, with Rev. Paul Andree officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church on Sunday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, or to the Waseca Arts Council.  A private interment service will take place at St. Olaf Cemetery in New Richland at a later date.
