Monica E. Fritz

Monica E. Fritz, age 92, of Waseca, died peacefully on Saturday evening, September 29, 2018 at Southview Acres in West St. Paul.
Funeral service will be 11 AM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 with a visitation for two hours prior to the service all at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca. Interment will be in Woodville Cemetery.

Monica Elizabeth was born on May 17, 1926 in Janesville to Arthur and Elizabeth (Berg) Mulcahey. She grew up on a farm in rural Janesville and attended country school through 8th grade. When she was only 16 years old, Monica moved to Waseca where she worked at the Corner Lunch Caf. Monica was united in marriage to Orvit Fritz on November 12, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault. Together they lived downtown Waseca before Orvit built them a home in Wilton township. This home was one of many new homes that Orvit built for his family, as they moved several times around the Waseca County Area. They always looked forward to their Sundays together where they would attend church before going out for lunch and spending the afternoon driving around the county, visiting friends and family. Together they took many trips in the winters visiting friends in Florida and Arizona. She worked at EF Johnson and Brown Printing but most of her career was spent as a homemaker. Monica and Orvit shared 38 years of marriage together before Orvit passed away on December 8, 1985.

Monica was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. Monica loved to dance any chance she could while being active in Randals Bandwagon and Red and Whites Polka Club. She was a great cook and would bake the best apple pie. She was a perfectionist and always kept her home spotless. Above all else she cherished every moment she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sons: Robert (Sue) of Waseca, and Mark (Kristen) of Farmington; grandchildren: Lindsey Fritz (Jason Esse), Carley (Eric) Gleason, Jayson Fritz, Kaitlyn Fritz (fianc, Adam Howe), Alec Fritz, Kristina Fritz, Nicole Fritz and Phillip Fritz; great grandchildren: Fynlee, Crosby and Vienna Srp, Scarlett and Sullivan Gleason; sister, Betty (Tom) Furr; sisters-in-law: Carol Mulcahey of Janesville and Deloris Mulcahey of Waseca; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Donald, John, Richard, LeRoy and Arthur Francis in infancy, one sister, Stasia Stenzel.
