EMILY WHITE MILLER , age 91 of Waseca, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.Â
Born in St. Paul on October 7, 1921, Emily was the daughter of Everett and Mary (Turner) White. After graduating from Central High School in St. Paul, she attended the University of Minnesota. Emily met her future husband Kenneth Miller at the St. Anthony Park Methodist Church. They were married on December 27, 1941. She and her husband moved to Waseca in 1953. Emily was a member of Faith United Methodist Church where she directed the choir for a number of years, and was a member of Ruth Circle and the United Methodist Women. She pursued her interest in music and art as a charter member of the Waseca Chorale, designing the logo for the organization, and was a contributing member of the Waseca Arts Council.   Emily was also a long-time member of the Monday Study Club.Â
Emily is survived by three children, Philip (Pamela) of Sun City, AZ, Mark of Plymouth, Thomas (Jane) of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Benjamin of Cosmos; one son-in-law, George Hagge of Waseca; one sister-in-law, Elaine Miller of Northfield; and many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Â She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her daughter, Mary Alice Hagge.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca, with Rev. Victor Waters officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church. A private family interment will take place at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca at a later date.Â
